Norbert BECKER
Norbert Becker (55) is a founding partner and chairman of Atoz. He has been involved in global professional services for three decades and was based amongst others in Chicago, New York and London. He serves also on boards of various public and private companies as independent director.
After working for 4 years with the Banking Regulators in Luxembourg, he founded the Andersen firm in Luxembourg and was its managing partner for 15 years. After having been appointed Regional Managing Partner, Norbert assumed operational responsibility for Central Asia, Eastern and Central Europe, the Middle East and India. He was a member of the European Operations Committee. He supported the local member firms of Andersen to consolidate their market position in serving domestic clients and the interest of the Global 500 operating in the Area. Subsequently, he was appointed Global Managing Partner Infrastructure and was in charge of Andersen’s global administration based in London and New York.
Norbert has led discussions with big four firms that ultimately have led to the integration of 60 Andersen national practices with Ernst & Young. The successful integration significantly grew Ernst & Young’s service capabilities around the world and positioned the Firm to the number one position in many significant markets in Europe, Asia and Latin America. Norbert was appointed Global Chief Financial Officer and member of the global board of Ernst & Young, a multi-billion organization with a global footprint.
In 2007, he was one of the co-founders of Compagnie de Banque Privée “CBP”, a private bank incorporated in Luxembourg of which he serves as chairman. He is involved with a number of international Private Equity Firms, such as Edmond de Rothschild Group and Mangrove Capital Partners. He serves also on the board of BIP Investment Partners, a public investment firm based in Luxembourg. Norbert is involved as an independent director with other companies in Luxembourg and abroad, including Skype and Paypal both wholly owned subsidiaries of ebay. He acts as chairman of the supervisory committee of CIB Bank Ltd, based in Budapest, which is wholly owned by IntesaSanpaolo. He serves on the boards of other private companies in Europe.
Norbert earned a doctor honoris causa degree of Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, Connecticut, US.
In 1993, he co-authored the report “Luxembourg, Situation et Défis, Vision pour demain”.
