Principal - Leader of Asset Management Advisory
Benoît is a Principal who is leading the Asset Management Advisory practice at ATOZ.
Benoît has experience advising institutional clients, asset managers and HNWI in the structuring, setting-up and registration of regulated (SIFs and SICARs) and unregulated (LPs and RAIFs) alternative investment funds, but also with respect of structuring/restructuring assistance for retail funds. He provides assistance to clients on the establishment and ongoing regulatory duties of Luxembourg management companies, AIFMs, portfolio managers, investment advisers and distributors. Benoît advises on a wide range of alternative investment vehicles, including PE funds, real estate funds, hedge funds, debt funds, funds of funds and infrastructure funds. Benoît also provides ongoing regulatory advice on Luxembourg funds and on other areas of law relating to the fund industry (eg, finance, corporate, Brexit related issues, etc.).
Benoît is a member of working groups of the Luxembourg Fund Industry Association (ALFI), including AIFMD, ELTIF and management companies, as well as of the legal committee and the Brexit group of the Luxembourg Private Equity Association (LPEA). Benoît is the Chairman of the AIFMD review group of the LPEA. Benoît is also a member of the Investment Funds Committee of the International Bar Association.
Benoît holds a Master's degree in Business law and Entrepreneurship (IAG-LSM) from the Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium) and a Bachelor's degree in Law from the Université de Namur (Belgium).
He speaks English and French.
